Diabetic Foot assessment/ Care

Vascular Assessment

Doppler assessment is performed to evaluate blood flow in the arteries of the lower limb. It’s a quick, non-invasive test that provides important information about a patient’s vascular status — especially circulation to the feet. Ankle-Brachial Pressure Index (ABPI) or Toe-Brachial Index (TBI) if indicated

A person is using a blood glucose meter to check their blood sugar level, which reads 84 mmol/L. The individual has a small amount of blood on their finger, and a black case is visible on the wooden surface nearby.

Neuro-Sensory

A neuro-sensory assessment for the diabetic foot evaluates for peripheral neuropathy (nerve damage). This examination is essential for identifying loss of protective sensation, which can lead to unnoticed injuries, ulcer formation, and an increased risk of amputation.

A healthcare professional measuring a patient's blood pressure with a sphygmomanometer and cuff on the patient's upper arm.

Risk Stratification

Categorising patients based on their risk of developing foot ulceration or amputation. It combines findings from the neurological, vascular, and musculoskeletal assessments to guide follow-up frequency, education, and referral pathways.

Nail Surgery

Pre-operative Assessment

This first appointment ensures the patient is clinically suitable for nail surgery and provides all necessary pre-operative information.

A man sitting on a bed or couch, possibly in a bedroom, is holding and examining a person's foot, possibly providing foot care or massage.

Nail Surgery procedure

Procedure appointment, where the nail avulsion and chemical ablation (if indicated) are performed, followed by post-operative advice and care.

Toenail brace

Nail bracing is a clever treatment that gently lifts and straightens your nail as it grows — relieving pain, reducing pressure, and helping prevent the problem from coming back!

Toenail reconstruction

Podiatric treatment designed to rebuild or replace a damaged, deformed, or partially missing toenail using a medical-grade elastic gel or resin. The procedure is both therapeutic and cosmetic, offering protection to the underlying nail bed and restoring a natural nail appearance.
